Supriya Banerjee

 

Dr. Supriya Banerjee is a senior executive experienced in successfully building and managing science and technology (S&T) organizations. She serves as a Director for FAMES® and is dedicated to developing future aerospace leaders via STEM education and workforce development. Dr. Banerjee worked 25 years at SAIC, a $10B fortune 250 company, and was honored with the Excellence in Science and Technology Award during her tenure. She has contributed broadly to the aerospace profession by performing special studies, advising universities and presenting seminal papers on critical technologies. She is a published author, invited speaker, and is internationally recognized for her S&T work. Among her many awards is the International Achievement Award from Women in Aerospace and AIAA STEM Awards. Dr. Banerjee serves on non-profits and university advisory boards, and holds leadership positions in professional societies. She serves as a member of the Aerospace Board of Visitors at the UMD. She chaired the National Capital Section, the largest Section of AIAA, where she was responsible for programs, pre-college STEM education, and financial management. Dr. Banerjee led K-Ph.D. STEM and workforce development efforts for 30+ years at many levels, including education, policy, and non-profit work. She chairs the AIAA K-12 STEM Diversity Working Group. 

Dr. Banerjee received a Ph.D. in Physics from Boston College and attended Harvard Business School for Executive Education. She is a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
